8 Days Jordan tour with guaranteed Saturday departure (Max of people: 35- Min of people: 2)

An Immersive Journey Through History, Culture, and Natural Beauty

Your journey begins with a warm welcome at Queen Alia International Airport, where representatives of Jordan Experience greet you and escort you to your hotel in Amman. After check-in, you’ll enjoy dinner and have your first overnight stay in the Jordanian capital — a city that blends ancient heritage with vibrant modern life.

The next day is dedicated to discovering Amman at your own pace. With a full day free, you can explore the bustling souks, cafés, and historical neighborhoods independently or choose from a range of optional excursions. Whether you seek culture, cuisine, or relaxation, Amman is a city that rewards every kind of traveler.

Your exploration of Jordan’s rich past truly begins with a visit to Jerash, one of the most well-preserved Roman provincial cities in the world. Walking through its monumental South Gate, you’re transported into a world of grand colonnaded streets, majestic theatres, and intricate Byzantine churches. In the Oval Plaza, surrounded by ancient columns, and along the Cardo Maximus, you’ll witness the ingenuity of Roman engineering — including earthquake-resistant architecture and world-renowned acoustics that still echo in the ancient theatre.

From Jerash, the journey continues to Ajloun, where you visit Qalat er-Rabad — the medieval fortress built by Saladin’s army during the Crusades. Set amidst the green hills and forests of northern Jordan, the site offers both a glimpse into Islamic military architecture and breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape.

Back in Amman, the tour turns to the ancient heart of the capital. Known in antiquity as Rabbat Ammoun, the city is steeped in history. A visit to the Citadel, perched atop one of Amman’s seven hills, offers panoramic views and the chance to walk among timeless Roman ruins — a powerful reminder of the civilizations that once thrived here.

From the capital, the journey takes you south to Madaba, famed for its remarkable Byzantine and Umayyad mosaics. Chief among them is the ancient mosaic map of the Holy Land in the Church of St. George — the oldest surviving cartographic depiction of the region. A short drive away lies Mount Nebo, believed to be the site where Moses viewed the Promised Land. The mountaintop offers sweeping views over the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and even Jericho on a clear day.

As the day continues, you arrive at Little Petra (Siq al-Barid), a smaller, more intimate Nabatean site carved into the rock. Once a rest stop for caravans on the trade route, it offers a quiet preview of the marvels of Petra. Its narrow gorge, rock-cut temples, and multicolored cliffs are both historically significant and visually striking.

The following day is entirely dedicated to Petra, the crown jewel of Jordan’s heritage and one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. Entering the city through the narrow canyon known as the Siq, you emerge before the awe-inspiring façade of the Treasury (Al-Khazneh) — famously featured in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. But Petra is much more than a single monument; it is a sprawling city carved into rose-red sandstone, with tombs, temples, stairways, and sacred spaces revealing themselves around every bend. Once a bustling center of trade and culture, Petra remains an astonishing tribute to the skill and ambition of the Nabateans.

After soaking in the wonders of Petra, the adventure shifts to the vast desert of Wadi Rum, where dramatic landscapes of red sand dunes and ancient rock formations await. A two-hour 4×4 Jeep tour offers an exhilarating way to explore this otherworldly terrain, concluding with a traditional cup of Bedouin tea. It’s a chance to reflect on the simplicity and beauty of life in the desert before returning to Amman.

No visit to Jordan would be complete without a day at the Dead Sea. Situated at 423 meters below sea level, it is the lowest point on Earth. The mineral-rich waters provide a rare opportunity to float effortlessly, while the therapeutic mud offers natural rejuvenation for body and spirit. Whether you choose to swim, relax, or indulge in a spa treatment, the Dead Sea delivers a unique and unforgettable experience.

As your journey comes to a close, you’ll return to Amman for one last evening in this welcoming and dynamic city. The next morning, a transfer to Queen Alia International Airport marks the end of your unforgettable Jordanian adventure, one filled with timeless ruins, desert magic, cultural treasures, and moments of genuine wonder.

Itinerary

Reception upon arrival at Queen Alia International Airport in Amman, assistance by Jordan Experience representatives, and transfer to your hotel in the capital. Check-in, dinner, and overnight stay.

After breakfast, enjoy a free day in Amman. You can take optional excursions or explore the city on your own.
Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

After breakfast at the hotel, depart for Jerash, known as the Pompeii of the East. Enter Jerash through the monumental South Gate and wander through this ancient Roman city. You’ll stroll through the Oval Plaza surrounded by columns, visit the Roman theater, and Byzantine churches with mosaic floors. Enjoy a walk along Jerash’s main street, the Cardo, passing by the Nymphaeum. Experience the amazing acoustics of the theater, which hosts the annual Jerash Music Festival. Learn how the Romans built earthquake-resistant columns along the colonnaded streets.

Next, visit Ajloun Castle, a highlight of northern Jordan. Known locally as Qalat er-Rabad, this fortress was the base for Saladin’s forces when they defeated the Crusaders in the 12th century. The Ajloun Mountains are famous for their lush vegetation and dense green forests, perfect for trekking and hiking.

Return to the capital, the largest city in Jordan and its political, cultural, and commercial center, historically known as Rabbat Ammoun. Visit the Citadel, offering panoramic views of the city and a chance to explore timeless Roman ruins. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

After breakfast, leave Amman and visit Madaba, located 30 kilometers southwest of the capital. Madaba is famous for its Byzantine and Umayyad mosaics, especially the large mosaic map of the Holy Land in St. George’s Church.

Next, visit Mount Nebo, where Moses is said to have been buried, with breathtaking views over the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Jericho across the Jordan River. Continue to Siq al-Barid (Little Petra), located near the main Petra site. This ancient village, carved into stone 8,000 years ago, offers a glimpse of what Petra would become. It features a modest gorge with beautiful rock-cut temples, caves, and multicolored cliffs. Being less visited, it has a unique atmosphere.

Transfer to Petra, check in at the hotel, then dinner and overnight stay.

After breakfast, begin your visit to Petra, the ancient Nabatean capital. The lost city of Petra, entirely carved into rose-red sandstone cliffs, is a mystical and magnificent site, a lasting tribute to a lost civilization. Petra was a major hub on the Nabatean spice routes from the Persian Gulf, Western Arabia, and the Red Sea. About 2,000 years ago, Petra became the capital of the Nabatean Empire. One of its kings, Aretas IV, is even mentioned in the Bible.

The natural beauty of the mountainous area blends perfectly with the refined culture and impressive architecture of the Nabateans, who carved theaters, temples, tombs, monasteries, homes, and streets all from rose-colored sandstone. It’s no surprise that UNESCO listed Petra as a World Heritage Site. Enter Petra through the Siq, a narrow and deep gorge, which suddenly opens onto the most famous monument: Al-Khazneh, or the Treasury. You might recognize it as the set of the final scene in “Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.”

But the Treasury is just the beginning. As you walk and climb around Petra, hundreds of rock-carved buildings reveal themselves, eroded over centuries into stunning multicolored walls. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

After breakfast, depart for Wadi Rum. Enjoy a 2-hour 4x4 jeep tour to explore the most spectacular sites in the area. The tour ends with a refreshing cup of tea prepared by Bedouins. Afterwards, transfer back to your hotel in Amman for check-in, dinner, and overnight stay.

After breakfast, depart for the Dead Sea, the lowest point on earth, sitting 423 meters below sea level. Experience the unique sensation of floating effortlessly in its salty waters while treating your skin to a natural beauty treatment. Relax, enjoy a massage, or try the healing mineral muds. Return to Amman for dinner and overnight stay.

Unfortunately, all great things must come to an end. Transfer to Queen Alia International Airport for your departure. End of services.
Have a great trip!
