Discovering the Ancient Ruins: Jerash and Ajloun:On your second day, journey north to Jerash, often called the “Pompeii of the East.” This ancient Roman city offers a stunning glimpse into the past with its remarkably preserved structures. Walk through the Oval Plaza, admire the grandeur of the Roman Theatre, and explore the intricate mosaics of Byzantine churches. Your adventure continues with a visit to Ajloun Castle, a 12th-century Islamic stronghold used by Saladin’s forces to defend against the Crusaders. In the afternoon, return to Amman for a tour of the Citadel, Roman ruins, and the iconic Roman Theatre. After a full day of exploration, enjoy dinner and rest at your hotel.
Journey to Petra: The Rose-Red City:The next day takes you to Madaba, home of the famous Mosaic Map of Jerusalem. From there, continue your journey to Mount Nebo, the believed burial site of Moses, offering panoramic views of the Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea. Traveling along the historic King’s Road, stop to explore the Crusader Castle of Shoubak before finally arriving in Petra. After a delicious dinner, you’ll check into your hotel and rest for a full day of exploration tomorrow.
A Full Day to Explore Petra:Day four is dedicated entirely to exploring the wonders of Petra. Enter through the Siq, a narrow canyon leading you to the awe-inspiring Treasury (Al-Khazneh), one of the most photographed monuments in the world. After your guided tour, you’ll have some free time to continue exploring independently before returning to your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
From Little Petra to the Deserts of Wadi Rum:On day five, visit Little Petra, a smaller but equally fascinating site, designed to accommodate the caravans that passed through the region. Then, head to Wadi Rum, famously known as the “Valley of the Moon,” where massive sandstone mountains rise above vast, red sand dunes. Experience the rugged beauty of this desert landscape with a thrilling 2-hour Jeep tour, exploring its breathtaking valleys and towering rock formations. Spend the night in a traditional Bedouin-style desert camp, under the star-filled sky. Enjoy a delicious dinner in the desert and rest for the night in this tranquil environment.
The Dead Sea: A Day of Relaxation:On day six, the journey continues with a visit to the Dead Sea, the lowest point on Earth.
