Day 5 : Petra - Little Petra - Wadi Rum (02 h 4x4)
After breakfast we leave for Little Petra. Unlike Petra, where the Nabataeans lived and buried their dead, Little Petra was designed to house the caravans from Arabia and the East, bound for Syria and Egypt. To allow them a break, after crossing the Wadi Rum, the Nabataeans first dug small caves in the sandstone rock, and then built large ones, due to the huge number of caravaners who stopped there. We then continue towards Wadi Rum, an ancient passageway for caravans which, loaded with precious goods, moved north from the Arabian peninsula to reach the ports of the Mediterranean. Its beauty is characterized by mountains marked by time, by the beds of ancient lakes now dried up and by very high dunes of intense red color. In these places an Italian researcher, Professor Borzatti, found some finds of the oldest known alphabet, the Tamudic, which dates back to 6,000 years ago. There are also numerous engravings and rock paintings carved in the rocks of the famous valley of the moon. Excursion in 4x4 Jeep for 2 hours. Accommodation in the tented camp, dinner and overnight stay under the stars of the Desert.
